Does anyone know the name of the 2 programs that are used to crack programs? I don't mean just a regular crack that you would apply, or a keygen. These programs give you access to the part of the program that has the sequence for generating the serial. Thus enabling you to write the crack or keygen based on the sequence.

I'm not in the hacking/cracking world like some of my peers so I wont claim to be on the ball on any of these topics.
However, in the past (if I'm not mistaken) this would be accomplished by using a HEX editor which would break down the bin file into more "readable" sequences. Has this practice changed?
Well u can try and use this hex editor by the name of" Ultra Edit".. But i can assure you that there's no program out there that can do what u want to do.. Basically u just have to have time and patient and do some research on how they develop the keygen algorithm..
Hope i could be of some help.. :)

I believe hex editors in this case are used to create mods and trainers for games. But I need the progams that helps you find the serial # or sequence. In order to crack the game/software.

I'm sorry to say my friend but your wrong. I had the programs that I am telling you about, but unfortunately my harddrive died and I don't rememebr their names.
Well if u can show me an example of a program u've cracked..then i'll beleive..
But i've cracked alot of programs out there and i never heard of such application that can aid u in cracking the program..
NOTE: I believe in buying software..i dont support this

It's all about the tutorial, not all are good. I only want it for educational purposes.

Getting into this discussion a little late, but yes Ropy is speaking truth. It is possible to create cracks or keygens for programs. The algorithms can be had by deciphering Hex codes using Hex Editors (the last one I used was Hex Edit 32). It is also possible to use decompilers, or even more effectively disassemblers... but don't think for an instant that you'll be able to just run these programs and see code like:
{
//Here lies code for generating serial
serial=date+2*3;
checkSerial();
}
Nope, sorry... like I said... you're gonna have to do some deciphering, because a lot of the decompiled code links to DLLs, OCXs and such.
Glad to be able to contribute to this "Educational" discussion. ;D

just for the purpose of education
has any one done any " real" online hacking
and what software was use

There is a considerable difference between Software cracking and "online" hacking. I'd have to say that I've done some... twasn't done with any special software tho... with online hacking it is more the know-how to apply information gained from common everyday simple network tools.

True...simple commands that can even be executed at the command prompt.
For example..
uh
Somehow I feel like I am helping to create Hacke... , uuhhh SOFTWARE ENGINEERS.
Just look up your command prompt commands and practice. (and please... practice on you own stuff first... make sure you KNOW HOW to "network" acurately, then do you may practice on other things)

You really don't need any program to do that. You can by way examining an algorithm determine how a key is generated. Alot of programs that use keys are generated based on algorithm that can be figured out without reverse engineering the program based on a sample of known generated keys.
