Does anyone know of any individual that has been successful in unlocking a CWJ phone to work on the Digicel network, or vice versa?

Godkid I cant believe u didnt come to me with this. Anyway I am going to let that slide for now. I have unlocked many phones to work on either network. Currently the phone I have is sold by C and W. If u want more info just let me know.

As usual Ropy taking the cautious approach. Godkid U r safe, As long as the phone is Triband or Quad Band. Thats the beauty of technology. Both networks might as well use the same frequency or dont sell triband phones. I know the frequency that they choose is dependent on the infrastructure they want to implement but its clear that Digicel's choice is the best since they require less cel sites to achieve a certain coverage area. But this is competition at its best.

First of all, Motorolas CAN be remotely unlocked...at least the newer ones:

V300/V500/V525/V600

C330/C350/C450/C550

V60/V66/V70/T720/T280

V3690/Timeport/V50/Startac/T180/T191

i'm not sure about the other ones...

What you would need is the phone subisdy unlock code....Say you had a v600 from C&W, if you put in a Digicel sim, when you turn on the phone it would ask for the subsidy unlock code, once you know what this code is (is is different for each phone and is based on the IMEI), your phone will work with any provider...

C&W has the v300 and v600 now, since Digicel obviously has no plans of releasing any of these phones anytime soon, it looks like i might have to do some unlocking myself.... ;D

For Nokia phones you can try this website:

This site has some info too:

I thinking about buying a v600 from C&W and unlocking it to work on Digicel, i just want to ensure that it can be remotely unlocked.....

I saw on websites that it could but has anyone actuall done it?

I would hate to spend 800BDS on a phone only to be stuck.

C330/C350/C450/C550 arent these dual band ?

I was not making a point about the bands they operate on, i was simply saying that they could be unlocked without the use of a cable....

So they would still work on any networks that uses the bands they operate on instead of just the one it was originally locked to.
