I am watching over all of you! All hours of the day and night! ;D
Well, not really. Mozilla has a handy feature that I use: tabbed browsing startup (my name for it). Essentially, when I start Mozilla, a set of 12 tabs open up at the same time, each on a different website one of which is the TechJamaica Forums.
Since I don't need to close any tab, I'm usually logged in for the full day at work and if I forget, the browser is open all night long at work while I'm at home.
Other than that, I may be browsing at home up till 1am while watching The Screen Savers. Thank goodness for Daylight Savings Time! I can now get some sleep.......

Honestly, you don't need a tutorial to know how to read/write 1337. Just remember that characters and numbers are used to from letters. 1337 does not have a set way in which letters can be typed.
eg. My H looks like this }{, it can also look like this |-| & )-(.
Here is my 1337 alphabet.
A = 4 or @
B = |}
C = C
D = ]) or |)
E = 3
F = F
G = G
H = }{, |-| or )-(
I = 1
J = J
K = |or |{
L = | or |_
M = |\/|
N = |\|
O = 0
P = P
Q = Q
R = R
S = $
T = 7
U = |_| or u
V = \/
W = \/\/
X = >< or X
Y = Y
Z = Z

Keep in mind too that there are different levels of l337
it all depends on just how cryptic you can stand it.
It all started when online users, namely hackers, wanted to communicate info in public chat rooms and the likes.... mostly IRC without giving away the priveleged info to the genral public... thus the elite way of doing things.
elite = l337

Absolutley nothing Chris...
but if you checked the previous comments you will see that someone mentioned that the new moderators would have to make sure that posts written by users were done in a readable language.
Someone then proceeded to provide a typical example... binary posts. We ended up with l33t in the end.

You're basically right. It's how the person portrays themselves online, their level of maturity, treatment of others and other highly subjective characteristics. To a lesser extent post count and membership duration.

I am sorry to dissappoint you OSS, but the title that is placed under each users name doesn't depict the dept of knowledge they have in Information Technology or the lack thereof. It is simply a status based on the number of posts you have made.
There are persons you have newbie titles that can run circles around you, me and even Chris himself.
I do greatly recommend you read the post suggested by Mitchie. I learnt a lot from it myself.
I think in your question to become Administrator to read and apply what the post suggest is a step in the right direction.
Yours in Techjamaica.
