won't make any promises, because unlocking of the 8700c depends on the specific firmaware of the fone and some other ish.

if you are interested in a real soultion for this model, give me a loink. you looking at $4500 with a turnaround time of two days.

the 8700c is not like the 6xxx and 7xxx which can be done in 15 minutes.

also note that blackberry only have a certain number of attempts to unlock them, then they are just usefull for playing games or as a paperweight... so make sure you use the right solution

if you check blackberryforums.com you will find recommendations for a number of people who can send you the unlock code(you supply them your IMEI) for an 8700c for a reasonable price.

i was buying an 8700c a while ago, and my research basically turned up that all 8700c can be unlocked EXCEPT those that were given out at what are called the "launch party" events- when Cingular launches the phone and gives them out to certain celebs, big business reps, etc.

i ended up going with the 7130c instead and am quite happy.

When I called none of them could unlock the berry 8700.

I know gregtheunlocker can do it, because I have sent friends who have got thiers (8700c on cingular) done by him.

I know ric_djohn can unlock blackberry's but not sure if he does that model
