this game stands in my bood as one of the greatest rpg games i have ever played n is my current favourite next to skies of arcadia

the zenosaga series was a disapointment but hey they werent bad rather good too but the original is the best

when it comes to solid story lines great gameplay complex plotting u wonder why the hell did square ditch this project? right now they regretting it like crazy

sad huh because this game was so diffrent from their final fantasy series the final fantasy fans who bought it didnt understand it n could not grasp the newer story system oh well here is some reveiws of it

GAMEPLAY 9.5/10

Don't get me started on the battle system or I will talk for hours! For this game Square has added a spectacular new battle system that just pulls Xenogears out of the corny, traditional RPG.
You use something called Deathblows, where you must press a certain combination of buttons to attack, and some combinations give you "Deathblows" which are more powerful attacks. If you're worried about Magic, then worry no more! Each character has his/her name of special magical ability, each different from the other. (Some have Chi, Some have Ether, some have Arcane, etc...) The overall control and feel of the game is great, and you never have those annoying camera angle problems, because the areas are fully rotatable, making this a big plus. The only two things that bring Xenogears' gameplay score down a bit is the gears and the areas. In gears the fights are a bit mroe boring and at the beginning can be a bit cheap, but it's no big flaw. The bad thing is, that sometimes, the areas are just GIANT mazes, and it can be REALLY REALLY hard and frustrating, but at the same time it adds some challenge to the game. Usually though, it's pretty straight forward. Overall, this game is extremely fun, and the battle system rocks!

STORY/PLOT 11/10

I just had to put the eleven, there, the story deserves it. This plot is so amazing and intriguing and it just sucks you into the game! It's like Square made J.R.R. Tolkien (I know he's dead), Philip Pullman and Isaac Asimov come together to create this amazing and spectacular plot. It tells the story of a young man named Fei Fong Wong who lives in Lahan village, where he is a calm and peaceful painter. There's only one exception: he was brought to the town a few years back, bloody and soaken as if from a huge fight, and he lost all of his memory. I won't say anything more about the plot so that you will go out and BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!! This storyline really tears Xenogears apart from your average RPG. As Xenogears unfolds, throughout its massive 60+ hours of gameplay, you will be sucked into this game forever. You can complain all you want about Chrono Trigger and FF6 or even FF10 having a true storyline, well I don't care, Xenogears still beats every game story-wise!

I think Undying (Clive Barker Written), had the best storyline. I have yet to play Xenogears, but I did love Skies of Arcardia, the story was average, but the game itself was more fun than 99% of Rpg's.

Chrono Trigger is for people with no day jobs.....

I played xenogears years ago it was ite, i rather ff styled combat mode though and Kefka was da real don corleone in ff3 right?

Cuz i stil consider ff3 one of the best as for Chrono Trigger i couldnt go tru it properly without a walkthrough, that was long ago though, also played chrono cross which had practically zero story.

CAUSE FUNNY ENOUGH NO ONE FINISHED IT REALY THEY ALL JUST SAID "OHH THIS ISNT LIKE FINAL FANTASY" OR SOME CRAP LIKE THAT N LEFT IT


the game isnt final fantasy so your gonna have to get used to the new battle system and new items


this was a brilliant title with a complex n fun story line with very deep charachters

it was animie styled not 3d so you have to appreiciate anime chachters
to accept the design but it still had a very good battle system away from the usual

i also hail skies of arkadia as one of the other greatest rpg games of all time!!!
