My friend is suppose to give me a demo soon. He says I have to play this game because it is so much tougher than the one before especially in terms of graphics and the fighting techniques. :o He says it's a must have game!!

Did anyone try out the Kung Fu mod for Max Payne 1 on PC? Is there "Kung Fu" in the sequel or is it straight shooting?

It's a must have game for all those die hard Max Payne fans and those who just want to enjoy a good game. I just started it only two days ago so my comment will have to be: A Binary Choice: .....her Synapses.

In modt reviews they all said it was just as short as the first. The only reason u might think it is short is because the first game had a couple incredibly hard stages. Eg The stage where he is in a dream.

How many hours constitute a short game?

I played it over the weekend. It was extremely short, i still haven't come to terms with the fact that i finished the game in two days. :o
I loved the first Max Payne, but to be honest this one seemed to be pulling on straws to build a story line. Yeah, they played on the love story and other small new developments in his wife/baby murder but that seemed to be it, there is nothing really new that was not already known or assumed, or maybe i don't remember the first max payne that well, whatever!
Got to give it props for the action scenes, lots of action, guns and blood!
Overall, it was a good game but the original Max Payne kicked a... ;D

I still prefer Max Payne 1. But Max Payne 2 is still a good game. I loved the fact that I was able to play the game with all the graphic details turned up to the maximum. I was even able to use 4 Samples for my Antialiasing, Anistrophic Filtering. And the game played with picture perfect frame rates and stunning details. Sweeet Game :o. Hey Seanbee the Geforce4 Ti is holding up really well....how's your ATi handling Payne 2 ??? ???

You are asking how is a radeon 9700 Pro handling Max Payne, come on man, if your geforce TI can do it (which is not fully direct x 9 compatible) why can't mine 9700 Pro do it, and for your information, i haven't played Max Payne on my desktop PC, I am using my laptop to play (which by the way has a radeon igm video card in it) - and that is holding up quite nicely much less if I should start playing with the big dog.
When you want to compare a nvidia to a radeon, please compare using a FX, the other nvidias cannot compare with the now lower end radeons 9500 Pro, 9600 Pro

Yeah I finished Max Payne 2 in about 3-4 days of playing. Only reason it took that long was because I did a lot of exploring and would listen to all the character interactions and watch the TV shows.
I was constantly amazed at the amount of detail the designers put into the game. eg in that scene when u were at the Police station and u were supposed to go back to your desk after breaking something in the chiefs office u'd pass a officer questioning a suspect about the 2 bodies he was found cutting up in his bathroom. I sat there and listened to the whole thing which last for at least 3 mins or more... It was HILARIOUS and yet I could easily have just walked by w/o paying attention to it. Same thing with the TV shows like "Dick Justice" and "Lords and Ladies" I always made sure I stopped by the TV's in the game to catch the next episode. "L & L" was particularly good especially the "surprise" ending.
I also think this one flowed better. In the original there were times when u'd get stuck for a long time since there was no obvious way out but in this one ur path was much clearer so I hardly lost the momentum.
The only thing I didn' t like about this one was the fact that u moved at normal speed while everyone else slowed down, whenever u killed a large number of hostiles in a short space of time. Made the game too easy and more superman-like than I would have wanted. In the original game EVERYTHING slowed down, including ur movement, so it just meant u had more time to aim. This one is more high-speed Matrix powers as opposed to a more realistic, slow-mo, camera.
Other than that Game was enjoyable 8)

Loved this game...it was one of my favorites of the year and it definitely lived up to both the hype and the Max Payne name.
I don't think the Kung Fu mod is out yet. When it's released, I'll have to go back and beat it for the third time.
;D
I think I beat the first Max Payne about 4 times just for the different versions of the Kung Fu mod and its enhancements.

Btw, it only took me about 2 days of playing to finish Max Payne 2...it couldn't be more than 10 hours total. It was short...shorter than the first one IMO.
But the action was more intense and the graphics were much better. The story was decent, but not as good as the first one.
