I have the same Tv Tuner Card and its very good. Excellent actually. Does its job properly. If u plan to record from it, look for a more expensive card.

From what I know most peeps only use it to either rip stuff from their TV, or use it to turn their PC into a PDR (Personal Video Recorder).

Well i can say with me, i use it to watch tv while using the pc. my tv isnt near my pc so i would have to get up from the pc to watch tv. i just siply put the tv screen in a corner of my monitor and continue to do whatever and i get the best of both worlds.

My main problem is there is only one component set in the house and wen i need to listen to my music on friday nights such as this i have to turn on the component set which means waking up people, which is something i try to avoid. All the other radios are too small and offer no bass at all. So therefore i have to turn my computer into a radio, i dont really want the TV feature of it all i just want the Radio part alone.
Thanx for the Lifeview link i wonder how much it cost though. Will have to check intcomex

thats another thing i ask gillion......its as though its becoming the home entertainment centre that lures you like a magnet.
in any one of those uses, it does use more power than the standard device.
i guess its one of those philosophical why's.....

Are there any other TV Cards That you people know about that are also good.
I just did some research also and i got a reason for y other people use their computer to be a Home Entertainment system is becuz their computer monitor also runs like a high definition TV, becuz not many people know that a standard cathode ray TV uses a resolution of less than 640 x watever. So if you have a 21 inch monitor and you can get much better quality than a tv, then y not. And with almost all channels coming out with a HD version of their channel or sending out signals in HD then its just something that would be cool to do. In my situation i am sure most people can understand y i need the Radio.
Just trying to justify most peoples situation still.

but the signal is geared for that size...so its not going to be better on the monitor is it.
just smaller. well, i suppose it would look btter smaller like on a portable tv. ???

I have a tv card, and to tell the truth, it cant beat a regular tv. I have a 19 inch monitor, watching at full screen the quality is excellent, picture more refined. But to tell the truth i prefer the tele. The tele just has a look to it.

Conditioning over the years has caused your brain to
perceive the tele as having a look more
to your liking, even though your monitor may be displaying a crisper image.
This is similar to the advent of the CD whereby some music afficianados perceived the LP as having a"sweeter" sound than the CD.
This is due to their brains being conditioned to
the surface noise on LPs. Whenever they heard a CD
the absence of noise caused a perception that
something important was missing from the music.
What they are hearing is the music at a clarity they
are not accustomed.
