Who likes fighting games?

I'm a major fighting game addict. Coming from the days of Street Fighter2 on SNES. Right now, Virtua Fighter4 and most recently Soul Calibur2 are running things for me 8) ;D

I'd say Tekken Tag Tournament. I didn't like version 4 that much or played it. Nor did I like street fighter's jump-kick, sweep - dragon punch techniques. But I play it for a while along with Killer Instinct. Mortal combat kinda died for me still right after MK3 ultimate - it just got all crazy ???
I haven't played the latest incarnation of MK but I don't think I'm looking for to it either.

Bwoy...the SNES version of SF2 was the original and the best in my opinion.
The series started to get crazy after a while (Super SF2 Turbo Hyper Gamma Alpha ......)

But I just picked up Soul Calibur 2 and bwoy...it sweet :D 8)

I remember back in the day with Samurai Showdown as the weapons fighter of choice... those were the dayz :)

Looks like I'll have to go dig up the old toolz later ;)

Capcom Vs. SNK 2 should be the game of choice if you're going to delve into the 2D fighting cinema. It's the ULTIMATE 2D Fighter! Speaking of which, has anyone played Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 on XBOX? Hmm?!

But as far as these games go, Soul Caibur has been THE WICKEDEST fighting game I have EVER played. Full stop. Hold the d*mn phone. Tell the fat lady to sing. It doesn't get radically better than this. Only a Soul Calibur 2 can be better, and I've yet to play that.

Owen, you missing out BIG in the MK realm! Have you played Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance on the XBOX? That game OWNz! That game is EONS ahead of any MK game ever released!

But my copy of Soul Calibur 2 is still coming in the mail. I'm sure it will dominate the scene as soon as it gets here. That's why I'm trying to squeeze as much out of Deadly Alliance on my XBOXer before it gets here.

Cuz I know as soon as it does, it's all over for MKDA (and Tekken, and Street Figher, and SNK and...)

I dotn get it....has no one played guilty gear x 2? Man you guys are missing out....find someone who has it and play! The game is just great. The anime style is bad ***. Its an A+ in my books. As for soul calibur 2...nothing new. Got it last week. Its a good game by itself but compare to part one it doesnt really bring much to the series.

Street fighter 2 turbo, the best ever, bar none. summers were paradise when we had this game, snes was just the best in those days. i cried the day someone stole this game from me.

i would love to see yall in action in this game. i was unbeatable for a couple summers. everyone was scared to play against me. but talk is cheap so u guys set up an old school battle and we will see who come out on top.

Mk2 was good too, but too easy after a while.

Mortal Combat Trilogy is the best fighting game ever. No doubt about it. If none a ya'll wanna get your butts kicked call up a Mortal Combat tourney and you will all die. "it will be a silent spring".

Anyways I have the original Nintendo console with working controllers and the gun to play duckhunt. My cousin has the original atari.

As far as balance go Guilty Gear X2 and Guilty Gear XX #Reload are the most balanced fighting games of all time.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 is so broken its balanced......somewhat (the X Box version is like the worst port of it , nowhere near arcade perfect)

Soul Calibur 2 is the most balanced 3d game out there.

As far as the best game goes , its all in the eye of the beholder. Personally I love Street Fighter 3 : 3rd Strike and The King Of Fighter Series and I find myself strangely addicted to Marvel vs Capcom 2 ( ah the joys of having the DC arcade perfect port :P)

yeah i've been in this gear thing from the beginnin as you can see from my current avatar (may 19, 2004 "i'm gonna change it so i don't wanna have somen thats not a ggx character and it look like i refering to it ;D) you'll see that its SOL BAD GUY, the meanest, toughest, roughest, low down dirty "Shut ma mouth" fighter in the game,

guilty gear is by far the best fighting game i've played it is also the most fair, giving the system of BALANCE that it contains, ere body has somen to counter ere body with, there is no direct and outright advantages, so its basically players skill that determine winners

U know, I've never played those guilty gear games. I think I saw it being played once and it looked quite kewl 8)
The fighting games I play currently are Virtua Fighter 4 and Soul Calibur 2 - and u don't wanna test me on those ;D

In my time I've played StreetFighter 2 Turbo, the Mortal Kombat games, Fatal Fury, Samurai Showdown, Virtua Fighter 1, and 2 and I've briefly played Dead of Alive 3 on XBox.

Sounds like I'll have to go out and get this Guilty Gear so I can teach u young whipersnappers a thing or 2 ;)
