Installing Office XP SP after WinXP SP1

Recently I tried to apply Office XP SP1-2 to a WinXP system that had WinXP SP1 installed and the darn thing would not install - message that some files have already been updated kept popping up...

Anyone know a way to get around this --- without uninstalling WinXP SP1 first?

Maybe the files HAVE been updated making the office sp redundant. If you can get a list of a couple of the files that should be updated, check the version numbers and then cross reference them with the files on a machine which has the office sp applied.
