TURNING OFF THE FIREWALL IS HIGHLY UNSAFE AND NOT RECOMMENDED

There are ways of allowing IRC and AIM check this forum http://www.sdharris.com/speedtouch510/

Telnet to the IP of the Modem........

Default 10.0.0.138........Enter the admin username and password

Press the ? or type 'help' to familiarize yourself the CLI.............

type command 'firewall off'

Exit and restart server...........

Telnet to the 510 SpeedTouch modem type MENU

You will see the menu item for Firewall, labelled Firewall. Select it and you can disable or enable it from there.

Ok here is how its done exactly..........

This was tested on a 510 v4.........

Telnet to the IP of the modem/router.........

Enter the admin username/password.........

At the Prompt type IP
Then enter command Config Firewalling Off
Then type Config to view the Router settings
You Should see Firewall Off.........

At this point you can close the telnet session........
