Ok so I have been having lots of problems with my Treo 600 for the last 2 months. The Phone refuses to make or receive calls, it reboots itself constantly, it hangs up, it has this annoying humming sound when I'm on calls....the phone was just a living headache....the PDA works perfectly I must add.....its the phone that gives problems.....so I then bring it in to C&W mobile repairs dept. They have it for almost 1 month in repairs.....doing only God knows what....I am getting miserable and fraustrated each day...because living without a smartphone is like not living at all.....plus being stuck with a S.E. T310 is not a nice thing....it brings down my i-GURU status...everybody that knows me....knows that I am an avid techie always boasting the latest technology....So finally I called C&W today, and they say yes Mr. Guru your Treo is ready for pickup.....I reach there at 8am on the button......only to see that once again I am given a Brand New Treo 600 yet again......hhhhhmmmmm I ask to speak to the manager......my goal......to try and work out a deal to get their Treo 650....which I hear they will finally be launching really soon....(I guess this is because Digicel has the 650 for sale now) Ah Tell yuh bout competition...It always leaves me happy).....anyways so I am told to check back in 2 weeks time....in which I will be told if I can trade in my Treo 600 for a 650.....now wouldn't that be great.....they need to have policies like this in place...where people who spend big money on expensive phones can trade them in for future upgrades....this would be a very nice customer service gesture....anyways hopefully I will hear some good news from C&W about my situation....really soon....but in any case if I don't hear what I want to hear...I will be selling my brand new Treo 600.....look out for it in the classifieds...

Also I have just realised that the 650 is the most expensive smartphone on the Jamaican market right now.....hhhmmmmm

While it is the most expensive, I dont think it is the most useful smartphone on the market...So I guess Cultus should have also mention some level of available funtionalities with these prices.

YIKES! That Treo is expensive. I'd rather get a US$300 Tungsten E2 and pair it with a Bluetooth phone. Besides, I don't like combination devices. When one gets shot, the other goes with it to the hospital or the morgue :D

Your Treo needs a new battery !!!

I just realised if CW is gonna do the trade in thing, i not so sure if they gonna just take a 600, i guess they need to know you actually own it, and that it was bought from them :eusa_thin

People are suddenly starting to complain about hearing strange humming noises when they call me too. Ive learnt to live with the random crashes and resets as its not all that often. At the price the 650 is at now I can only look and dream.

Reading and researching allot i found that is one of the most common prob with the 600, the battery goes and causes the phone no to function properly, if you replace it with a genuine OEM battery the same will happen, so i suspect that is what happening to Cultus ..... They battery i changed to is from another vendor, it also gives more talk time than the OEM one ..

So you telling me thats how quick the Treo OEM Battery goes bad???Yup, its like the Battery is the Weak point of the Treo . and remember there is strain on the battery from the day the treo is made, as there is no way to entirely poweroff your treo.

OK Had the same issue

The problme is the ROM image is currupted (The Operating System) and needs to be reloaded, this can be done at CW (If it is a CW phone) I dont know about Digicell.
