tested anngel on 2 games now. both UT versions and pings weigh in differently for both.
on 2k3 its 550 and goty is 460 average. ;D

Hey ropy i decided to play on anngel this morning. remember i only started to play on sunday.
to my suprise a few people were playing, only 4 but hey it was after 7 in the morning.

Ropy ofcourse u know the result already. i won, only died 6 times, and 2 of those were suicide ;D

def we can try loggin on in the evenings for a bit and have a lil test but i know its no gaurantee that we will find anybody but at least you have tested the connection. my ping hits the roof during the day an evening till about 10pm my time.....anngel customers mussi well busy ;D

no unles there are 5 or more, you wont know. there are 4 bots holding the fort and each one drops out with the adition of a player. so if its 4 or less playing, you gotta connect to find out.... :P
i'll be doin a lil test tinite around 1 to 2 am my time......should be 7 to 8 yur time.......then i may pop back latah if nuttin goin on as i will be in the world of UT2k3 and mohaa....

I connected to the area51 UT game server last night.
At first there was a problem where the game just would not start, waiting on other players.
That was fixed promptly when xphat came online and was notified of the situation.

So now....i'm finally playing yipeee!!! NOT!!!
LAG MAN !!!

My ping was 456 thereabout.... and it was not funny, bots were beating me >:(
I had like a 2 sec lag, so you know what that meant when facing a bot that's quick on it's toes. The only chance I got of winning was when I began using the maximum kill points....but even that didn't help in the end.

I am gonna try again tonight.

BTW, I had set my res to 800x600 low detail.
I forgot to set the min desired framerate to a higher number...so gonna try that.

Just give the F1 key a punch and he'll tell u.

You can also look for Major Pain, Binary Punk or The One...xphat please turn down the bots them too wicked...


Here is a suggestion that may or may not work, it might help those who with the "DEMO" version of UT2k3.

It is possible to play UT2k3 over a network, and we already know it won't work over the net. Why not create a VPN, that I think would not require a user to have a valid key. It's just a suggestion still...what uno think bout it???

So i made them smarter :P I thought the challenge wouldve been good, unless i get more ppl telling me to calm my relentless bots they stay, plus all they are on is auto adjust skill so :P

there seems to be a problem on the server though xphat.
you know this lag the guys are complaining about, well it seems something is scanning us from the server. could you check the server for anything that might be there that shouldnt be.
i have tried other servers and dont get the call from my firewall.
seems to be scanning the ports for some reason. could be a setting in the game server. my firewall then slaps a ban on the server and the lag shoots up.
just do a check as it doesnt seem to do this on other ut2k3 servers.

I slaughtered the bots yesterday ;D
They are easy to beat in close quarters maps....in the open they harder to hit though....still 1 sec lag. :(

Anyways you guys as the main kick off for the game server nears ima need some people to help.. :-\

Anngel is going to have a booth at the JCES show coming up in a few days (Sept 5th and 6th) w/ the Area51 Theme @ the hilton to promote the server, we'll have a small LAN there for ppl to play unreal / unreal 2k3 or quake 3 or counterstrike with each other, prize giveaways etc etc.

If anyone is interested in giving a helping hand at the show, send me a PM I need maybe 4 - 6 people on hand, more importantly hehe anyone who wants me to kick their *** on unreal please b there (j/k) ;D ;D ;D
