Ok No Kingston right here. I don't even like the name.

OCZ
Corsair
Geil
Mushkin

I want 1GB but not sure which one of these. Corsair and OCZ are at the top of my list but from experience which do you guys think is better? Others names are welcome too. Links to what you talking bout would be good too.

Hmmm I see. Ok so Geil is good well I find that the prices range from around 61 - 70 for 512 from corsair to OCZ not sure about Geil. I am thinking corsair or OCZ not into overclocking

You have two type of kingston memory - the ones with the original kingston chips and the ones that are generic... I realise that the the original kingston memorys are hard to get and their hyperx is just a hype price...

Krems I am not fighting OCZ cause dem darn good but my word... the price is outrageous... cant afford...

Recommendations should be based on fasts so check out this link >> http://www17.tomshardware.com/motherboard/20040602/index.html. It should help you out somewhat.

I use Kingston memory, have had no problems with it really. Never really heard about those other brand names (OCZ, Corsair etc...) .

Kingston offers lifetime guarantee, now that is good enough for me. If a company tells you that they willing to replace thier product no matter how long you've had it i think they can be considered good.

N.B. I will definately check other brands though.

nobody uses crucial memory anymore? i don't think you can go wrong with ocz, corsair or mushkin so just find one within your price range and buy that, it might be easier if you select a 1 gig kit and then ask techja if they would recommend a better kit for less.

oh, and make sure your motherboard supports it, try to keep the timings as low as possible too

Well, i remember looking at the test posted from Toms Hardware. My conclusion from looking at some of the results and the models that u listed are as follows:

1. Can't say 5h17 about Mushkin cause it not in the test (unless is a different name or mi blind)

2. OCZ booted on the most systems (with only 2 problem systems)
3. Corsair was second in booting then Kingson & GEIL tied.

4. Corsair got the most 100% succesful tests..then Kingston...GEIL & OCZ tied.

5. OCZ got the most Wrong SPD (yellow) but 100% stress test. Corsair got the least (which is good) then Kingston.

Others are there but can't bother.

I would buy Corsair. Price is good, performance on mobo's tested the best.

Note: CRUCIAL didnt fail on any mobo's. Helps BlaqMale's question. People still should consider them.

But this wasnt a speed test...more of a stress test...so response times didn't really come into play with this test.
