Average Dimension of a Hard Drive

I want to get a USB Hard Drive Enclosure...but I'm uncertain of the Dimension of the Average Hard Drive we use in PCs...can anyone tell me (ie: Width and or Height)?

Well lets see now am there are a variety of them. They are 3.5 and 5.25 in width. All of them are them are approximately the same in height which is about 0.25. All measurements in inches.

3.5inch(W)x1(H) for desktop drives & 2.5inch(W)x0.37(H) or 95mm(H) for notebook drives

just trying to be accurate, last one i saw was an 8.0gb quantum big foot
