Lan Party July 26th 2003 (GAJ meet)

The next Techjamaica/CCP lanothon will be on Saturday July 26 2003. (07-26-2003) in St. Anns Bay
This party will be even bigger than the last fun filled, fragging fest held in May. The losers will be stronger, faster, smarter.... BETTER!!
Games such as UT and Red Alert 2 will be back, and new ones such as UT2k3, FIFA2k3, CStrike will be played.

Things to do:

Get machine in top condition (reformat, more juice,...whateva 8))
Lineup your ride to the party
Get your lil moneys ready (about $1000 per person. subject to change)


Dont forget to bring the other essentials:

Machine (CPU)
Monitor
Mouse / Keyboard
Power cables / Surge strip (for your own protection)
Headphones


The games that will carry Trophies are not finalised. This depends on the demand from us.
Please respond to this post A.S.A.P to push this lanothon forward. 8)

Mi go pick up back them game dae tonight cause since Vice City mi no look on them except Generals and RA2. All mi can say is, "mi a go home with something (including a smirnoff ;D)" no joke this time.

I wonder if those that went to the "Mega LAN Party" today (19th) heard about this one in St. Anns Bay for the 26th. I was seeing the add for the one at the Chinese Benevolent Assosciation even up to yesterday (Friday) on local tv. If we could advertise like they did, even once we could get some major competition even new members to techjamaica.com. Did any one go to represent for techjamaica.com and try to scope out competition? I think we should have someone from the zones to scope out Tournaments liek these whenver they come out.

Yeah. I agree with you. Before the last lanothon, I didn't know anything about a Red Alert. And I am not too much of a StarCraft fan either....I guess I prefer something more historical, like Empire Earth where I get to control apache helis and tanks...nothing as sweet as hearing the gatling on those choppers ... ;D

But hey, thats the reason why we have this post, to find out what the MAJORITY wants.
As regards UT, we will be using G.O.T.Y edition of UT.
If you dont got it, dont worry, the cds will be at the party.

And don't forget to be EARLY and also setup your machines quickly and do a quick run of the games to see if your machines somehow developed problems after the long journey that some of you will have made.

i couldnt join linval. i have ut2k3 and ut. not ut 2000.
i found the site and it just sat there trying to connect.
i pinged it and could get a good response but just wouldnt connect.
grrrrr.
tell me is ut2000 different to ut2k3? i was vexed yu see. the only dam version me no have was the one up. >:(
i even went on some s.american servers and was getting good ping. so no reason why i wouldnt there.
i used eye as well to locate it but it came back 9999 in the ping status.
i didnt hav any port info but i figured it wouldnt matter anyway.

You did no such thing!! I mean, we had no problem playing other games, in fact, i was playing FIFA 2k3 at one spell....remember?
The only restriction was that we wouldn't be able to use it as a tournament game since most of the St. Anns Bay guys had prepared for UT GOTY and not UT2k3. 8)
