At the Jamaica Linux User Group (JALUG) general meeting on Saturday, August 31, 2002, a decision was made for their public technical discussions to be hosted on TechJamaica.com's tech forums. This decision was made in part to further promote the awareness of Linux and open-source issues in the Jamaican tech environment.
