Unreal Tournament with 16 people trying to kill you.
No single player game can compare to that man!!!!

Next to that is Quake 2 with 8 people trying to kill you.

I was wondering how come no one ever said that.

Perhaps the most intense game I've played as a single player game is Wing Commander Prophecy (but y'all were still babes at the time). There were missions where you were stuck in a Dog Fight with what seemed like 20 enemy craft all gunning for you at the same time with the entire confed fleet on red alert. I loved those dogfights. Difficult as hell, but damn intense on the brain... loved every bit of it.

The only other game I've played that matches intensity was Freespace II. I can't even begin to describe that here. That game was good to the last explosion. Every mission had your brain on edge as you tried to anticipate sudden switches in the mission. No mission almost ever goes as briefed, adding to the intensity and the suspense of the game play.

I however, get the feeling most of us are not into space combat simulations and have absolutely no idea of what I'm talking about... ::)

Next to that it would have to be Unreal Tournament with 16 other ppl. Gotta agree with matronyx on that one

Yes Ropy I have.

As a matter of fact. I think I am the one who introduced you to Mafia. I played them both for awhile but not long.

Mafia deserves more credit that it gets actually, but still nothing too intense about it. Its like an old school grand theft auto.

Hitman 2... not bad either but not intense. At least not for me.
