I have attached a microphone to my computer, i can't seem to get it to record. I went into volume control and selected the mic option. I have tried using several progams such as:
Nero Wave Editor
Acid Pro
Sound Forge
Could someone please help me!
I'm a Sax player who like to do a litte recording

Hey DC,
here's what u do...
open the default sound recorder (start > progs > accs > ent > sound recorder)
set that to record and test if you get input...
if u don't get input
1 - check if mic is set to mute
2 - check input levels
3 - check mic connection at back and make sure it's in right
4 - jiggle mic connection at back (pull it out halfway)
make sure to test for input after you make any change.. if you still not getting any input then tell us

yes, i just had that as well. if your on xp, there is a trouble shooter in control panel under the sound icon. go for voice and see if you get the meters to move in real time under the advanced button.
now, no matter what i did it wouldnt work and it seemed to happen after I did a bios update.
so i plugged out the power and reset the bios using the pins on the mthrbrd and then went back in, replace my settings and boot. all was fine since.
