HomeView sites back online? PDF Print E-mail

Yep, after implementing their subscription-based revenue model too late, falling from favour of their American investors for missing the IPO window, falling from grace in the eyes of Jamaican content partners who refused exclusivity as part of their contract- HomeView sites gunning for a comeback after its US$8million dot com death in 2000.

HomeViewguyana.com, HomeViewtnt.com are already live online with HomeViewJamaica.com still a W.I.P. The idea here- creating a concept of returning home online for the Caribbean diaspora who lives outside of the region giving them access to live radio, video clips, chat, message boards, links and email etc. The idea is to create a Caribbean community online, working from the outside in and to make money from charging for access to live radio,tv broadcasts, video clips etc.

The concept was too early in 1999 when it started, now that the cost of technologies such as streaming live has come down, broadband internet access is more ubiquitous in The United States, Canada and Europe-coupled with broadband internet access scheduled for a faster and cheaper roll out in Jamaica next year and other parts of the Caribbean- the idea will have a better chance of surviving, even thriving.  The one thing I don't like is, the sites looked like they did back in 1999/2000, it's good idea still dressed in old clothes.  But of course the proof of this sunkissed pudding will be in the online experience.
