Cable & Wireless and Danger Inc. today announced that the Danger hiptop2 wireless solution is now available in Jamaica, exclusively through bmobile.

Cable & Wireless is the first mobile carrier in the Caribbean to introduce the Danger hiptop wireless solution, having launched the original hiptop in the Cayman Islands in 2003.

Billed as the ultimate communications gadget, the bmobile hiptop2 is a sleek, compact unit that combines a mobile phone with push email, AOL® Instant Messenger™ (AIM®), HTML Web browser, text-messaging, calendar, address book, an integrated digital camera and a catalog full of games, ringtones, and additional applications and content.

The bmobile hiptop2 also offers an integrated flash-enabled camera that takes VGA quality digital photographs and offers software such as support for virtual cards and photo caller ID.  In addition, the unit features a dedicated number dial pad for one-hand dialing and speakerphone capability.

"We are pleased to offer the next generation hiptop2 product to our customers in Jamaica", said Stephen Brewer, Cable & Wireless CEO Caribbean Mobile.  "The original hiptop device was embraced by Cable & Wireless customers in the Cayman Islands, for its versatility and ease-of-use at a compelling price point."

"The Cable & Wireless hiptop2 provides an unparalleled user experience and allows customers to communicate on their own terms, whether it's through a phone call, email, text messaging or instant messaging," said Hank Nothhaft, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Danger Inc. "We are pleased to continue our valuable relationship with Cable & Wireless."

Hiptop and hiptop2 customers will continue to be offered new content and applications for download through the device catalog, which includes useful applications such as Intellisync® software for synchronizing tasks, calendar and address book data with Microsoft Outlook as well as the latest ringtones and entertaining games.

The hiptop2 device will be available initially to postpaid customers for $15 860 (plus GCT).  Existing customers will pay only $800.00 per month for an unlimited data plan; while the charge to new customers will be $1400.00 per month.
