In addition to reducing ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) charges, the company has re-packaged it service offerings to include - a doubling of bandwidth on its ADSL Ultra and Select Packages to 256Kand 512K, respectively; an increase in the number of email addresses on all packages; no charge on package upgrades; and the introduction of a new entry level Standard Package with a 128K bandwidth.

Under the new price structure, monthly flat-rate charges for C&W broadband Internet, across its six service packages (not including GCT) are as follows: ADSL Standard (128K) - US$45.00; ADSL Ultra (256K) - US$60.00; ADSL Select (512K) - US$90.00; ADSL Premium (768K) - US$120.00; ADSL Business Select (1,024K) - US$325.00 and ADSL Business (1,544K) - US$500.00.

ADSL service provides high-speed Internet access up to 30 times faster than dial up and allows business and residential customers to use the Internet and talk on the phone or send and receive a fax at the same time, using the same phone line.  ADSL allows users to download large multimedia files, music, games, video, and software with relative ease.  Additionally, the connection is "always on" and there is no need to dial-up to the Internet.

According to Senior Vice President Marketing & Communications, Patrick Gillings: "This latest re-pricing and re-packaging of our ADSL service is part of the company's continued thrust towards making Internet access, and specifically high-speed access, more affordable to as many Jamaicans as possible.  Our company is committed to doing its part to help bridge the nation's digital divide, and this is yet another initiative aimed at increasing Internet penetration, thereby moving us closer to the rest of the world in terms of Internet access, and specifically broadband Internet access.
