Cable & Wireless today officially opened its new state-of-the-art Flagship Mobile and Internet Store at 55 Knutsford Boulevard in New Kingston's business District.
The store, a joint venture between Cable & Wireless and prominent cellular dealers, Wireless King Limited, boasts a modern high-tech look complete with an interactive touch screen and product display centre, and is the first store ever to provide combined mobile and Internet café services.
President of Cable & Wireless Jamaica Gary Barrow, who officially opened the facility along with Wireless King's Managing Director Al McCalla, said the new store was another milestone in C&WJ's transformation from that of a collection agency into one of a successful sales and marketing oriented retail organization . He praised the efforts of C&WJ's and Wireless King's employees for the significant work done in transforming the building into a world-class facility never seen before in Jamaica.
Patrick King, C&WJ's Vice President Retail Services who also spoke at the function, said the new store would serve as a one-stop shop for Mobile & Internet services offered by C&WJ. He noted that the store complemented other business activities conducted in New Kingston's Business District as its Internet café would greatly enhance tourism in the area.
Cable & Wireless will be upgrading several other retail stores in similar fashion in major towns across the island over the next 12 months to offer combined mobile and Internet services. |
