Maurice Reid, manager of the JPSCo's Community Relations Department, said his company was willing to work with the Ministries of Education, Youth and Culture, Commerce and Technology to provide computers to schools. The JPSCo, he said, had spent more than $2 million during the last 13 months on "foundation education".

He added: "This company is not only committed to giving you light every hour of the day at the highest quality and at the cheapest rate, but we are also committed to ensuring that every child has access to computers so that they can get the type of information that they deserve to make them men and women of tomorrow."

Reid told the students that computers were valuable tools for learning and urged them to make good use of the equipment.

"Utilise them, care for them because the information they will bring you will lay the foundation that you need for tomorrow's world of work," he added.
