Host Your pictures online for Free!
Page 2
So you want to get started? Here is a list of websites which I believe are excellent for doing just what you need:

  • photobucket.com – Another great site. 101MB of free storage! No website hosting. Max picture size of 250k. Larger photos are automatically resized. Upload up to 20 pictures at a time. 2500 MB/month bandwidth (that’s a lot!) and again, it’s FREE!
  • villagephotos.com – A great site for storing photo albums. You can’t store websites here, but you can store up to 25 pictures for free. An additional feature of this site is that you can privatize any picture you want to remain hidden and publicize those you want to be viewable via web link. This site has a fairly low bandwidth limitation. So if you are a frequent poster, it may not be a good choice.
  • gallery.cybertarp.com – 10MB of free space. This server seems to be particularly fast! Image size limit of 3MB! No GIFs! (Bummer!). Update (2004-08-10): As of August 7, 2004, cybertarp has discontinued their free picture hosting service
  • myonlineimages.com (added 2004-08-10) - Free of commercial ads and free up to 4 MB of storage space for your images.

You may optionally go to http://www.free-webhosts.com/free-image-hosting.php to check on the latest free image hosting options there are out there. All of the sites mentioned there are completely free. All of sites I’ve mentioned here allow you to hotlink your images (i.e., link directly to the image in your post using [img] [/img] tags). So head over to one of these sites now and try hosting your avatars for starters. Then you can put High Resolution photos of your Desktops next. Where you go from there is up to you. Account signup is free, so you’ll be good to go in no time!
