PCS launches new software PDF Print E-mail

Port Computer Services Limited (PCS) a subsidiary of the Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ) has launched a new range of Microsoft software solutions for businesses.

The new line of software includes the latest Microsoft software Microsoft Dynamics CRM which is a customer relationship management suite with marketing, sales, and service capabilities intended to assist businesses of all sizes to find, win and grow profitable customer relationships. The launch took place on May 16 at the Courtleigh Hotel in New Kingston.

Other products being offered include; Microsoft Dynamics GP Enterprise Resource Planning System, Microsoft Exchange Server e-mail services, Microsoft Small Business Financials, Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server and Windows Server 2008. These products are offered as hosted solutions whereby customers can pay a monthly fee for access to the service. Customers also have the option to purchase the software.

New direction

Speaking at the launch held at the Courtleigh Hotel, Friday May 16, chairman of PCS Grantley Stephenson, said the partnership with Microsoft will take PCS in a new direction, not only to regain pride in the shipping industry, but to go beyond.

PCS he noted is transforming businesses with cutting edge technology by hosting solutions to make life easier.

Frances Yeo, executive director of PCS said the partnership with Microsoft emphasises the new direction that the company is taking. "We are expanding our services to meet the needs of our customers especially in accounting and customer relationship management ... we see a need in the shipping industry and beyond. We have the skills to deliver and we have found our partnership with Microsoft as the solution."

Affordable services

According to Yeo, with PCS as the host for these IT solutions, small and medium-sized businesses will benefit as the services will be more affordable.

Making her presentation during the launch Carol Ann Herrera, Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) Partner Account Manager reiterated Microsoft's commitment to providing IT solutions that are usable, flexible and manageable.

Established in 1981, PCS is the leading IT service provider in the shipping industry, hosting the most advanced system for exchange of information on the Port of Kingston. PCS is a registered reseller of Microsoft software.
