Lutec, formerly known as Copier Concepts Limited, has secured the exclusive distributorship of Samsung Electronics office products in Jamaica.

Duane Lue-Fung, CEO of Lutec, believes that this is a major move for the company as it seeks to solidify a leading position in the local office technology solutions market.

"It is a fantastic deal; just for Samsung to have confidence in Lutec to handle its range of products just shows where the company is going," said Lue-Fung. "We think Samsung is going to be the new leader in office product technology and the end game is for Lutec to make Samsung a household name in Jamaica."

Lutec offers an array of document solutions, services and systems, multifunctional devices, duplicators, digital copiers and associated supplies, designed for offices and production-printing environments, in the local market. The Samsung deal represents its third major distributorship arrangement, as the company is already the local dealers for the brands Kyocera and Konica Minolta.

Samsung, a South Korean enterprise, is a global leader in semiconductor, telecommunication, digital media and digital convergence technologies with 2006 parent company sales of US$63.4 billion and net income of US$8.5 billion. The company employs approximately 138,000 people across 56 countries.

"With Lutec's support, Samsung ensures the best service and the highest technology in the Jamaican market, for professional and home use," said Samsung in a press release.

"The joint experience from both enterprises will please the demanding standards from the international industry."
