Anbell Telecommunications Ltd, a leading provider of Internet-based services including high-speed internet packages and voice over internet protocol (VOIP) technology, has announced entering into partnership with Net2Phone, a worldwide provider of voice services and technologies. Net2Phone is the carrier for most of the Internet-based calling services offered in Jamaica.

Anbell has now launched its latest product, ePhone, an easy and economical way to connect with business associates, friends and family overseas. Previously, NetVoice, the enhanced ePhone, offered a multitude of flexible calling features such as an unlimited calling package allowing users to 'talk without watching the clock', caller ID, call waiting, three-way calling,69, and voicemail. The newest addition is an overseas calling-card facility to be used by subscribers when they travel. Boasting a portable device, the service can be utilised anywhere with an Internet connection.

Seamless changeover

This direct partnership between Anbell and Net2Phone facilitates a seamless changeover and allows current Internet telephony customers to retain their existing US numbers.

Anbell has also moved to consolidate its share of the local market by acquiring the customer base of Televoice Communications Ltd.

"With a large population of Jamaicans living abroad and the increasingly global climate in which companies must now operate, we feel it is essential to establish a reliable and efficient communications network in order to connect with those outside our borders," said Andrew Pairman, president of The Anbell Group. "Our company is committed to providing hassle-free communication services supported by a courteous and accommodating customer-service staff."

Expanding industry

Jamaica's telecommunications landscape has dramatically changed over the course of the past 10 years. The introduction of a number of phone and Internet companies into the local communications arena is reflective of the country's extremely competitive, rapidly expanding industry. The island's lucrative digital environment positions Jamaica as a highly desirable locale in which to establish and expand telecommunications services. Recognising the importance of 'global connectivity' in today's world, Anbell has made a strong commitment to providing its clients with superior Internet-based packages.

The Anbell Group (Anbell Media Ltd, Anbell Agencies Ltd and Anbell Telecommunications Ltd) provides a suite of advertising and telecommunications services to businesses and residential customers. Since its establishment, The Anbell Group has played a prominent role in shaping Jamaica's telecommunications, advertising and mobile communication industries.
