Internationally renowned Jamaican IT expert to lead Corporate Workshops PDF Print E-mail

Propelling businesses forward in an IT driven corporate environment is the focus of the November 2007 workshops designed by Georgia-based corporate training organization, The Atlanta Institute. Scheduled to occur at the Knutsford Court Hotel in two sessions, Information Technology Strategic Planning (November 12-14) and Introduction to Server and Workstation Virtualization (November 15-16) workshops offers participants the expertise of fellow Jamaican, and internationally renowned IT expert, Lance Lyttle.

A born and bred Jamaican, Lance holds both a Bsc in Physics and Computer Science and a Masters degree in Management Information Systems from the University of the West Indies. He is currently one of the highest ranked Information Technology experts in the United States, functioning as the Chief Information Officer for the Department of Aviation in the world's busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

His duties span an impressive range of IT based demands, including the implementation and integration of technologies across the airport. Charged with leading all technology efforts, he has overseen the development and implementation of the airport’s Server and Workstation Virtualization environment, Internet /Intranet/ Extranet (E-Business) focused IT infrastructure, Aircraft Gate Management System, Private and Public Wi-Fi system, Distributed Antenna System that supports Cellular and PCS services, Automated Vehicle Identification systems among many others.

His expertise is not exercised only within the airports; Lance has extensive knowledge of many leadership subjects, including strategic planning, eBusiness strategies, database design and implementation and software development. He plans to incorporate all areas of his experience to make the outlined components of Information Technology understandable, approachable and easily incorporable into the workplace.

Lance sits on the editorial board of Airport Technology International publication (UK based). He is also a founding member and board member of Emoquad Internet Services (Jamaican ISP), and the chairperson for the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Information Technology committee.  He is a recipient of many awards, including the CIO Magazine CIO-100 Transformer Award for Innovations and Execution (2007), and nominee of countless others, the 2007 'Georgia CIO of the Year' featured among them.
