Caribcast Telvision is preparing to launch a new service which will stream live Caribbean content through radio and TV to the diaspora all over the world.

Florida-based Jamaican entrepreneurs Michael Lewis and Tyrone Robertson plans to provide the service through their subsidiary Caribbean Marketing and Media Corp (CMM).
CMM has been delivering Caribbean contents for the past 12 months, according to Lewis, who says that the service, which included news and entertainment, was delivered via large flat panel screens located in high traffic Caribbean restaurants in South Florida

"CMM TV have been inundated with requests from persons who have seen the screens in the restaurants," Lewis told Sunday Finance. "They have been asking the company to deliver the same programming to them in the comfort of their homes."

After confirming that there was strong demand for the service, Lewis and Robertson spent months developing Caribcast TV.
"The key objective of this new service is to deliver a variety of Caribbean programming directly to subscribers anywhere in the Caribbean Diaspora in the USA, Canada, UK and the rest of the world," added Robertson.

Caribcast TV is expected to provide content from more than 30 television and radio channels broadcasting live from the Caribbean by November 2007, but the service will be delivered through high-speed/broadband internet access.

Television channels include TVJ, RETV, JNN, MTM, and CTV from Jamaica, Caribvision from Barbados, Gayelle TV from Trinidad and radio partners such as Jamaica's FAME FM and Nationwide Radio.
Subscribers will also have access to hundreds of hours of Video on Demand (VOD) & Pay Per View (PPV) content. The service can be enjoyed in the comfort of homes via a Set Top Box (STB), which will be attached to any traditional TV set or online via their website www.caribcast.tv.

CMM, which was established in 2005, was born out of the demand for diverse methods to market & advertise to the Caribbean community in North America and is now one of South Florida's most innovative media providers.

It focuses on reaching Caribbean nationals in the diaspora, its main objective is to offer customers authentic Caribbean content utilising cutting edge technology coupled with traditional media methodology.
