C&W eLearning takes off in the Eastern Caribbean |

Cable & Wireless Jamaica (CWJ) in collaboration with C&W Antigua has partnered with the Antiguan & Barbudan government, to provide hundreds of online courses in various disciplines through its C&W e-Learning service.
A product of C&W Business Solutions, C&W e-Learning Is being offered through learning centres in both islands and will be officially launched in Antigua at its ICT FEST 2007 September 19 – 20. A major highlight of the launch will be a special e-Learning seminar, where Chief Information Officer of Cable & Wireless Americas & Caribbean, Arthur Phidd, will be guest speaker. Minister of Information, Broadcasting and Telecommunications of Antigua & Barbuda, Dr. Edmond Mansoor, says the programme is part of the government's "Connect Antigua and Barbuda initiative". He added that Cable & Wireless has done extensive work in developing the government's customized eLearning site, working with government technology officers for an effective rollout of the project. The Antigua and Barbuda government is expected to hire and train e-Learning officers to facilitate these courses. Cable & Wireless eLearning, which has been available in the Caribbean since 2001, provides over 2000 courses in diverse areas, including Desktop Applications, Management, Finance, Accounting, Leadership, Marketing and Information. The courses are facilitated by Skilsoft, the leading vendor in internationally recognized online courses. |
