bmobile is again making waves on the local mobile landscape, becoming the first provider to offer its customers a service that allows them to “borrow” credit in a pinch with the introduction of “Anyone Brawta”.
“Anyone Brawta” offers an ‘overdraft’ facility which lends bmobile’s prepaid customers $20 credit to make calls or send text messages if their balance falls between $1 and $3. Customers simply text ‘IOU’ to 124 to access the loan and the amount is deducted without ‘interest’ if they top up within seven days. Customers who top up after seven days will have $23 deducted from their credit balance. To qualify, customers must have topped up within the last 30 days. Bmobile also offers 10% more to customers who use etop up so it makes even more sense to top within seven days of using “brawta” using any of the etop up options. “Everyone knows what it’s like to need some credit fast but not be in a position to purchase it right away, but now with “Anyone Brawta” bmobile customers can actually borrow credit from us and pay it back as soon as they top up,” explained Paul Hamburger, Chief Commercial Officer for Cable & Wireless Americas & Caribbean. “With services like “Anyone Brawta” we’re ensuring that bmobile remains the market leader with regards to giving customers the best value for money and making it easier and more convenient for customers to communicate,” he said. “Anyone Brawta” leads a new slate of offers that bmobile has rolled out this week which allow its customers to take advantage of free call time and free text and multi-media messaging. “Anyone Team Plus”, takes bmobile’s consumer closed user group (CUG) service to another level allowing customers to have unlimited calling and text messaging among a group of as many as 10 persons for the low rate of $400 each per month. Customers on this plan can make calls to numbers outside of their “Team” for bmobile’s regular low rate of $10 per minute in peak time and $8 per minute off-peak. bmobile is also introducing the “Happy Hour” promotion which gives customers free calls as well as free text and picture messaging to other bmobile numbers between 3pm-5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. To qualify for “Happy Hour” on a weekend, customers have to spend $150 or more between Monday and Friday. This offer will run until September 30, 2007. Also, from now until September 30, customers trading in handsets from other mobile providers will get $500 towards the purchase or a new bmobile handset as well as a backpack filled with goodies such as a clip-on calculator, stapler and spiral notebook. |
