Cable & Wireless is moving aggressively to expand access to the Internet throughout the hospitality sector with the roll out of a new Wireless-in-Room service and an acceleration in the availability of 'Hotspots' in hotels and guest houses over the next few of weeks.
The Wireless-in-Room service is targeted at medium and large hotels and will provide their guests Internet services in the privacy of their rooms. Hotspots, suitable for the common areas of large hotels, are also ideal for guest houses and smaller hotels. Both Wireless-in-Room service and Hotspots use wireless fidelity (WiFi) technology to deliver reliable, seamless Internet access quickly.
Cable & Wireless has developed cost-effective solutions designed to reduce capital outlay and maintenance costs for establishments seeking to increase revenue while enhancing the overall experience for their customers. Use of WiFi technology in the delivery of these services allows for fast installation as it eliminates the need for cabling and elaborate networking of equipment.
Cable & Wireless is offering these services at no cost to business operators. The company will provide all the equipment needed for the provision of the service, maintenance and enter into a revenue sharing agreement with each property deploying the service. The basic requirement for taking up the service is the availability of Cable & Wireless' High Speed Internet access service in the location.
These services will allow players in the hospitality industry to open up new revenue streams for their businesses while adding variety and value for their guests.
According to Cable & Wireless Vice President for Business Solutions, Lloyd Distant Jr. The company's accelerated deployment of these services '…is in keeping with international trends in the telecommunications industry, as operators rapidly build WiFi networks to meet the demands of increasingly sophisticated users who now routinely travel with wireless access devices such as mobile phones, laptops, personal digital aides and portable game consoles.'
Access to Hotspot and Wireless-in-Room Internet services is very convenient as users may pay for their usage by prepaid card or credit card. In some cases, charges may also be included on a user's room charges. |
