Just under 90% of the persons who have so far responded have voted a resounding "Yes" as customers across the island continue to signal give their interest in Cable & Wireless' proposed prepaid homefone service. These responses have come into the company via email, telephone and through the company's business outlets.
The company through its Listening to the People campaign, launched four weeks ago, has been engaging communities and individuals across the island to hear their views on the planned service.
Commenting on the strongly positive response to date, C&WJ's President & Chief Executive, Rodney Davis said: 'We are very heartened by the feedback. We have committed ourselves as a company to listening to our customers and giving them the products and services they tell us they want. It's gratifying to see that this proposal is receiving such an overwhelmingly positive response.'
The Cable & Wireless CEO has himself been in the streets - in Montego Bay, Linstead, Portmore, Savanna-la-mar and May Pen - hearing first hand from a wide cross section of people. On those occasions, and in meetings with residents of communities in and around Spanish Town, topics covered have included not just the prepaid service but an extensive range of other issues related to Cable & Wireless' products and services.
The Listening to the People campaign has involved multi-media advertising, face-to-face interaction between C&WJ's senior management representatives and residents from a number of communities.
Cable & Wireless expects that the positive response to the campaign so far will pick up even further over the next few weeks as it approaches launch of the service. The company is confident that with the feedback gathered from listening to potential users it will deliver a service capable of re-energizing the fixed line voice services segment of the local telecommunications market. |
